Welcome Guest!

Welcome to the Cass County Composite Squadron website for the Civil Air Patrol. Main website areas are listed above, and submenus are on the left. Please feel free to browse our website and learn about our CAP squadron and our goals.

CAP was started in 1941 allowing private pilots to help in civil defense efforts, including coastal patrol and submarine spotting. In 1946, Congress granted an official charter to the Civil Air Patrol, charging its members with three missions, Aerospace Education, Emergency Services, and Cadet Programs.

Today, CAP provides Emergency Services and Disaster Relief following personal and community disasters. CAP handles 95 percent of inland Search and Rescue missions, with approximately 100 lives saved each year. Our members are generally the first on the scene transmitting satellite digital images of the damage within seconds around the world.

CAP also maintains both internal and external Aerospace Education programs, allowing members to learn and excel throughout the program, as well as providing classroom materials and education the the general public.

The Cadet Programs trains young men and women in teamwork, moral leadership and technical skills. Both Cadet and Adult Programs allow members to participate in flight training programs, supporting Emergency Services, Search and Rescue, Aerospace Education, and many more programs and opportunities for professional growth.
