Iowa Wing Cadet Earns Spaatz Award

Please join North Central Region in congratulating Cadet Col. Seth Schechinger of Iowa Wing's Cedar Rapids Composite Squadron on receiving the General Carl A. Spaatz Award!

The award was presented on July 1st at the Iowa Wing Encampment by Iowa Wing Commander Col. Sean McClanahan and Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate (himself a CAP Lt. Colonel and commander of the IAWG Legislative Squadron).

The General Carl A. Spaatz Award is Civil Air Patrol’s highest cadet honor. It is awarded to cadets who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, character, fitness, and aerospace education after devoting an average of five years and progressing through sixteen achievements in the CAP Cadet Program. Only about 0.5% of cadets achieve this prestigious award.
