Kansas Wing Member Receives Soaring Award

Congratulations to Kansas Wing's Lt Col Doug Dutton of the Flint Hills Composite Squadron, and Kansas Wing Director of Operations, who was awarded the 2021 Kansas Soaring Association Governors Cup for his contributions to the sport of soaring in Kansas.

Specifically highlighted was bringing the CAP glider program and region glider academy to Sunflower Gliderport as well as the introduction of hundreds of people to the sport by taking the CAP glider to multiple remote locations for fly-ins, cadet orientation rides, and JROTC orientation rides. They also recognized his contributions as Sunflower's tow-pilot of the year, willing to drive down and give tows on those unexpectedly good days, as well as his willingness to help with maintenance of the equipment and facilities whenever needed.
