Kansas Wing Recent Successful Find Mission

Congratulations to members of the Kansas Wing on their recent successful ELT Find Mission.

On the morning of November 30th, the Wing was tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center, AFRCC, with locating an emergency location transmitter, ELT. The initial contact placed the ELT somewhere within a 1,224 square mile area, west of Wichita. The Incident Commander, through contact with the Wichita Approach Control and Kansas City Center, narrowed it down to a more likely area in, or close to, the south side of Wichita.
