Kansas Wing Unit Introduced to Drone Operations

Recently at Kansas Wing's Topeka Composite Squadron, Capt. Tim Graham introduced their cadets to the exciting world of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS). Through hands-on flight instruction, cadets learned the fundamentals of drone operations and how Civil Air Patrol employs sUAS technology to support emergency services, disaster response, aerial reconnaissance, damage assessment, and search missions.

Their enthusiasm and commitment to learning demonstrate the dedication of their cadets as they develop valuable aerospace and emergency services skills.

Training like this also introduces cadets to the requirements for earning Civil Air Patrol sUAS Technician mission qualifications, preparing them to support real-world missions while building leadership, teamwork, and technical expertise.
