A group of Lincoln County Composite Squadron cadets, senior members and family members gathered at Kids Against Hunger earlier this month to bag meals for those in need.  After a brief set of instructions, they put together enough meals to feed 1944 people.  It was a fun and very rewarding experience.

The Lincoln County Composite Squadron members worked with Kids Against Hunger, Sioux Falls, which is directing March and April food packaging to Ukraine.  The organization also works in Rapid City and Aberdeen.

The national organization’s approach to achieving its goal – the eradication of world hunger – includes the packaging of a highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice casserole by volunteers at numerous locations within the USA and Canada; and the distribution of those meals to starving children and their families in 70 countries through partnerships with humanitarian organizations worldwide.

Fulfilling the mission of Kids Against Hunger requires a vast food packaging capacity across the country to meet an endless demand for food. Kids Against Hunger believes that the best way to engage the largest number of people is through a decentralized, locally-based network of food packaging satellites that are active in their community.
