Minnesota Wing Cadet Achieves Spaatz Award
Join North Central Region in congratulating Cadet Colonel Lillian Glover, of Minnesota Wing's St. Paul Composite Squadron, on receiving her General Carl A. Spaatz Award at a ceremony at Visitation School in Mendota Heights, Minnesota on the evening of Saturday, 30 September. The award was presented by Brig General Regena Aye, Civil Air Patrol National Vice Commander. The General Carl A, Spaatz Award is the highest achievement attainable by a CAP cadet.
Cadet Glover first joined CAP in November 2016. She has served as a flight commander, squadron cadet commander, chair of the Minnesota Cadet Advisory Council and vice chair of the North Central Region Cadet Advisory Council. Col Glover has attended flight academy, is a certified emergency service ground team member and has earned her FAA Private Pilot certificate. She recently represented the United States As an International Air Cadet Exchange representative to Australia. Cadet Glover is currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The Spaatz Award, named in honor of General Carl A. “Tooey” Spaatz, first Chief of Staff of the U. S. Air Force, is Civil Air Patrol’s highest cadet honor. It is presented to cadets who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, character, fitness and aerospace education. Cadets qualify for this prestigious award after devoting multiple years to progressing through sixteen achievements in the CAP Cadet Program.
