Minnesota Wing Helps Honor Veterans After Honor Flight.

On the evening of October 7, 2025, cadets from Minnesota Wing’s Fort Snelling and Viking Squadrons, along with members of the Minnesota Wing Staff, welcomed returning heroes aboard an Honor Flight at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. Honor Flights are run by nonprofit organizations dedicated to transporting as many United States military veterans as possible to Washington, DC, to visit the memorials of the wars in which they served, at no cost to the veterans.

That day marked the 26th Honor Flight from Minnesota’s Twin Cities. When the call went out to participate in the welcome, Minnesota Wing answered with enthusiasm. The heroes aboard included one World War II veteran, 29 Korean War veterans, and 50 Vietnam War veterans. After a long day—almost 18 hours from departure to return—the veterans remained awake, alert, and celebratory on the journey home, as a flight attendant kindly noted.

Colonel Jason Suby, Minnesota Wing Commander, spoke at the welcome ceremony: “We appreciate the opportunity to support the efforts of the Honor Flights team in honoring our veterans. It was a privilege to greet these men and women who, along with their families, have served our country so faithfully on their return to Minnesota.”
