Minnesota Wing Launches STEM Badge Pilot Program
24 cadets from across Minnesota Wing participated in this pilot program, first-of-its-kind event, on March 12, 2022.
Each cadet completed 6 hours of STEM exploration at interactive stations, completing half the required activity hours to earn the Basic STEM Badge.
From engineering and robotics to flight simulators and sUAS orientation and more, these cadets learned a lot, met new people from around the wing and had fun while doing it!
"This event is only stage 1 of a broader STEM initiative in the Minnesota Wing," says Director of Cadet Programs Lt Col Mary Albright. "The vision is to offer more single-day events, but to also grow STEM programming to execute multi-day events and hopefully, a week-long STEM Academy. Our cadets are highly engaged in STEM and we want to help them be leaders in this space."
This event was co-sponsored by the Wing Cadet Advisory Council and Wing Cadet Programs. Many thanks to the cadet staff and the senior members who made this event possible.
