Minnesota Wing Squadron Trains with Drones
Members of Minnesota Wing's North Hennpin Squadron recently had a great day learning to fly sUAS (small unmanned aircraft systems or drones). Basic sUAS training was provided by Maj. Tom Fitzhenry and Maj Toni Rossini.
With over 1,550 FAA registered airframes, CAP is by far the largest civilian owner/operator of public safety sUAS in the nation. Ongoing training across all 52 wings of CAP will maintain CAP's leading role in this new emerging emergency services technology. CAP-based sUAS have already been successfully used in missing persons searches as well as disaster relief missions involving hurricanes and other events.
