Passing of Col. Dale Hoium

North Central Region is saddened to learn of the passing yesterday of Col. Dale Hoium, former NCR Vice Commander, at the age of 79.

Col. Hoium's service to Civil Air Patrol included Red Wing Composite Squadron Commander 1986-1992, Minnesota Wing Chief of Staff 1993-1997, Minnesota Wing Vice Commander 1997-2000, Minnesota Wing Commander 2000-2004, North Central Region Chief of Staff 2006-2009, and North Central Region Vice Commander 2009-2012. (The title Vice Commander was recently changed to Deputy Commander; however, those who served in the position before a certain date retain the prior title.)
