SDWG Recruits at Home School Conference
Sioux Falls Composite Squadron and Lincoln County Composite Squadron represented South Dakota Wing at the Christian Homeschool Conference in Sioux Fall, May 6-7.
About 30% of all CAP cadet, nationally, are home-schooled, and CAP can make a good family activity. As a result, recruiting both cadets and senior members was a focus.
Members wore a variety of uniforms on the two days, including Class A & B, ABUs, blue BDU's, and the polo shirt and white aviator shirt uniforms. South Dakota Wing’s flight simulator was a great attraction allowing CAO members to visit with parents while the youth flew the simulator. The SDWG booth had a power point scrolling and had STEM kits on display, as well.
The conference resulted in several recruiting leads for the two squadrons, as well as some potential leads for other squadrons across the wing. Some people also signed up as Aerospace Education members.
