Three NCR Spaatz Award Recipients Recognized

November 4, 2022

Civil Air Patrol National Vice Commander, Brigadier General Regena Aye, presented the Spaatz Award to three Minnesota Wing Members -- Captain Katherine Hage, Captain Chloe Thomas, and Cadet Colonel Richard Sylak --- during the recent Minnesota Leadership Academy.  (Both Captains Hage and Thomas have transitioned out of the CAP cadet program and are continuing their CAP careers as adult members.)

The General Carl A. Spaatz Award is Civil Air Patrol’s highest cadet honor. It is presented to cadets who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, character, fitness, and aerospace education. Cadets qualify for this prestigious award after devoting an average of five years to progress through sixteen achievements in the CAP Cadet Program.  Since its inception in 1964, less than one-half of 1% of all cadets have attained the award.
