More than 500 scientific experiments concocted by 120 teams of Civil Air Patrol cadets were released in CAP's second high-altitude balloon challenge. The 50-milliliter test tubes were carried as high as 105,661 ft before falling back to Earth. South Dakota Wing, Civil Air Patrol (CAP) will be at the Discover Aviation Day event in Sioux Falls on Thursday, August 4. The event is part of the Sioux Falls Airshow organization, and sponsored by Aerostar. The goal is to provide information and activities that provide “kids of all ages” with information about aviation, including science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
